suggest to look at sabrelite board with sgtl5000:

as for voltages, check ER1

http://cache.freescale.com/files/analog/doc/errata/SGTL5000ER.pdf

for probe error: check i2c signals with oscilloscope, also one can add printfs

to probe fuction.
