Pull up for POR configuration pins

I am using P1022 processor in my design. In checklist, it is mentioned that all POR configuration pins has internal pull up, which is enabled only during reset. In datasheet it is recomended to have pull/up or pull/dawn for some configuration pins. Is it really required to have pull up if default state is acceptable?

The checklist Section 3.1 is not consitent about internal pullups.

Just in the next section Table 4, the document provides comments for some signals as "There is no default value for this... must be pulled to desired value".

The configuration signals without default values do not provide internal pullups and should be pulled up/down externally. These recommendations conform to datasheet ones.

The configuration signals with default values do provide internal pullup during POR.
