Dear sir/madam,

We are using imx6Q custom platform which is base from imx6Q sabresd platform.  Currently we are using u-boot2008-09 boot loader for our development.

We found the below patch file to support the new cpu silicon revision.

http://git.freescale.com/git/cgit.cgi/imx/uboot-imx.git/commit/?h=imx_v2009.08_3.0.35_4.1.0&id=a929825706b5e1508b29d8ae2a2afb2fcbb2de19

We would like to know,

1) Why this patch is not required in DCD header?

(In plugin mode, we have tried to boot without applying this patch and it is not successful.   But in DCD mode, without this patch we are able to boot.)

2) What is the difference between plugin mode and DCD mode?

Regards,

Ansari
