How to enable debug prints in KBOOT v 1_1_2 for KDS ?

Hello all,

I am using KBOOT version 1_1_2 and i am using KDS IDE.

Now my problem is i am not able to see debug prints on terminal.

I have declared macro in KBOOT's  include/fsl_platform_common.h file as,

@

#define DEBUG 1

@

The UART1 is configured for PORTC, PTC3 and PTC4, the baud rate is set to 19200.

The same thing i am able to use in KBOOT version 1_1_1 in IAR IDE. and i am able to see print on terminal using the same config.

So is there anything i am missing in KBOOT's new version in KDS.

Please let me know if anymore information needed from my side.

Thanks & Regards,

Rutvij.

Hi Alice,

Firstly Thank you for the response.

And yes i am using KBOOT v1.2 which has been added with KDS support, newly arrived.

And i am using FRDM-kl25z EVM.

Also i found that the binaries given in KBOOT's binries directory which should have debug prints is also not printing any debugs, while in KBOOT v1.1 (older one with only IAR support) has the same directory named "debug"  which contains freedom_bootloader.srec is able to print the debug prints on terminal.I am not sure about this but please correct me if i am missing something.

Thanks & Regards,

Rutvij.

Hello Rutvij,

I'm so sorry to reply you late .

And i test it on my side , it also can not prints on terminal .

And do you want port the KBOOT , or only use it ?

For the KBOOT is so huge , in my personally opinion , it is difficult to transplant, if you want port , i recommend you refer to this :

Kinetis Bootloader to Update Multiple Devices in a Field Bus Network    this is based on KL26 on CW10.6, i also have the KDS version , if you need, i can send to you .  it is the same with kl25, and   if you have some question about this, i can help you easily.

And if you only use the KBOOT  update your code , i think you needn't check the KBOOT code .

Hope it helps

Hi Alice,

Thank you for all your efforts.

We have solved our issue by using KBOOT's UART but still we were unable to use debug_printfs.

But i think we should report this bug to free scale it might help others and KBOOT's new version also will become user friendly.

I hope that make sense.

Thanks & Regrades,

Rutvij.
