Hi,
I have to measure altitude and air speed pressure for an aeronautical app. What kind of sensors do I have to use that best fit aeronautic grade specs?.
Thanks in advance,
Alejandro
Hi Alejandro,
For the altitude measurement, I would recommend you to use the Freescale Digital altimeter/barometer MPL3115A2: http://cache.freescale.com/files/sensors/doc/data_sheet/MPL3115A2.pdf
And about the air speed pressure, Freescale pressure sensors can be used for measuring wind speed, however, the choice of sensor will depend on the pressure level being measured. We offer a wide range of devices that measure as low as .57psi up to 150psi.
In order to find the correct pressure sensor for this application, I would recommend you to take a look at the following documents:
Understanding Pressure Measurement and Level of Integration of Freescale Pressure Sensors: https://community.freescale.com/docs/DOC-102516
Guideline: How to Select the correct Freescale Pressure Sensor for my Application: https://community.freescale.com/docs/DOC-102515
Have a great day,
Jose Reyes
