DDR2 SDRAM on IMX28 Evaluation Board

We have developed a new device with the IMX283 Microcontroller and we cannot get the DDR2 SDRAM to work properly. We would like to replace this DDR2 SDRAM with another component such that the software that is provided by Freescale and that contains the set up of the DDR2 works properly, without a need to make adjustments in the settings. Which DDR2 SDRAM should we use for this.

We are under the impression that the IMX28 Evaluation Board has the ELPIDA EDE1116AEBG-8E-F. Is that correct ?This component is no longer available. Is there an identical replacement for this component that we could use instead and still be able to use the Freescale software without changes.

We much appreciate input on this.

HI Hendrik

you are right, i.MX28 EVK uses EDE1116AEBG.

Strictly speaking it is not possible to repalce this chip with another

without software  changes. One can try to use chip with slower characteristics,

but still it is not guaranteed. For new DDR one needs to find settings using tools

from link below, then modify sources (in FSL BSP it is DDR2EmiController_EDE1116_200MHz

function in init-mx28.c bootlets)

Best regards
