Hello,

It's my understanding that future Kinetis families (released May 2014 onwards) won't be supported under Codewarrior 10.6. Just want to clarify if the following MCUs are supported by CW10.6 or not . If not then is KDS IDE recommended for them :

  1. K64_120
  2. K65_180
  3. K66_180

Thanks.

Hello,

your understanding is correct: KDS is recommended for any new devices after May 2014.

As for the devices you list, the status is the following:

  1. K64F 120MHz is supported in 10.6, see Using the FRDM-K64F with CodeWarrior. It is supported including Processor Expert.
  2. K65F 180Mhz is not supported with a 10.6 update (the v10.6.4)
  3. dito for K66F 180 MHz: supported in 10.6.4

See here about v10.6.4: New CodeWarrior for MCU v10.6.4 available

Again, it is recommended to use these new devices with Kinetis Design Studio: it comes with an updated/improved IDE, and support going forward will be done in KDS,not in CW.

I hope this helps,

Erich
