MCF54418 and Ethernet IC DP83849 use one Oscillator for each

We now use a board based on MCF54418,and its circuit is the same as development board（TWR-MCF5441x (700-26131)）bought from freescale。

The Ethernet IC DP83849 use 50MHZ clk which is generate by the Oscillator serving for MCF54418.

And I want to use 2  Oscillator respectively，one for DP83849, and one for MCF54418. Is there any problem with my idea?

Hello Eric,

You need to make sure that the crystal is the same for both; MCU and PHY. If it is different then you will have asynchronous signals and this could be the problem.
