Hi,

We are thinking of customized IMX6D board with single channel 16-bit

LPDDR2 and would like to know whether IMX6D will support single channel

16-bit LPDDR2. If So, If we connect only 16-bit single channel LPDDR2,

whether the board works fine or we need to connect 4 nos of single channel

LPDDR-2.

If Single channel 16-bit LPDDR2 is not supported then whether Single

channel 32-bit LPDDR2 will be sufficient for our design or we should go for

2x32-bit LPDDR2.

Hello Srinivasa Poram

Even though the i.MX6D memory controller is able to handle single channel LPDDR2 theoretically, I would strongly recommend using a double channel LPDDR2. Using single channel LPDDR2 complicates the calibration of the memory making the layout design less flexible.

You may see that there are some community threads that mention single channel LPDDR2 settings (like the thread below) but this has proven to be also a troublesome configuration at the time of calibration for a couple of Community Users.
