hi friends,

i am learning about Flexcan module from Mpc5674f  ref manual..i have seen global mask is used as acceptance mask for all Rx MBs, excluding MBs 14–15. and.individual mask is used as.acceptance mask for the Identifier in Message Buffer 14 & 15..why they have separated ..what is reason to separate 14 & 15 only..what is difference between RX 15 ,14 MASK ,RX GLOBAL MASK ,RX INDIVIDUAL MASK REGISTERS..

Hi,

there are two modes. In one mode (MBFEN = 1) every message buffer has capability of individual masking. In legacy mode mode (MBFEN = 0) global masking is used and there are additional individual masks RX14 and RX15. There's nothing special about the individual masks. It just extends the capabilities for masking. For example, global mask can accept certain range of IDs while RX14 and RX15 can be used for some special ones outside the range of global mask.

Regards,

Lukas
