What is the difference between iRTC and RTC modules?  Which API should I use with MK22FX512VLQ12?

Datasheet calls it an independent RTC, but module section is for RTC.

The SDK documentation mixes in iRTC functions in the RTC section.

I'm a bit confused.

I believe I have found the answer.

Based on MKMxxZxxCxx5RM.pdf the IRTC has separate year, month, day, hour, minute and second counters.   The RTC has a single 32 bit seconds counter.

The K22 processors have an RTC.

Hello Randy,

it is a very good question.

According to Enabling the IRTC Module - AN4023.pdf it looks there are no huge differences.

However, please, give me short time to gather more details for you.

I will answer as soon as possible.

Best Regards,

Iva
