Hi,

I am trying to download android-5.0.2_r1 for SabreSD board.

I am following the steps as described in "Quick User Guide" document.

Everything is fine until the RED colored line:

$ cd ~

$ mkdir myandroid

$ mkdir bin

$ cd myandroid

$ curl http://commondatastorage.googleapis.com/git-repo-downloads/repo > ~/bin/repo

$ chmod a+x ~/bin/repo

$ ~/bin/repo init -u https://android.googlesource.com/platform/manifest -b android-5.0.2_r1

$ ~/bin/repo sync

$ cd ~/myandroid/prebuilts/gcc/linux-x86/arm

$ git clone https://android.googlesource.com/platform/prebuilts/gcc/linux-x86/arm/arm-eabi-4.6

$ cd arm-eabi-4.6
$ git checkout android-4.4.3_r1

$ cd myandroid

$ git clone git://git.freescale.com/imx/linux-2.6-imx.git kernel_imx # the kernel repo is
large. Therefore, this process can take a while.

$ cd kernel_imx

$ git checkout l5.0.0_1.0.0-ga

After this red colored last command, I cannot continue and I get an error:

HEAD is now at 4f0dd92... Don't set console cflag to zero.

What can be the reason of the problem?

How can I solve this and proceed?

Best regards.

What's problem with "HEAD is now at 4f0dd92... Don't set console cflag to zero."?

It says "HEAD is now at 4f0dd92" and has a comment "Don't set console cflag to zero"  when the engineer check in the code.

The is what I check out l_imx_3.14.28_1.0.0_ga

git checkout rel_imx_3.14.28_1.0.0_ga

HEAD is now at 91cf351... MLK-10439: arm: imx: fix system hang after resume back under low busfreq

"MLK-10439: arm: imx: fix system hang after resume back under low busfreq" is what the engineer checkin the code and add comment for this check in.

Do you have problem with the android guide? can not continue to build?

Hi,

I has asked  IMX6 FAE in china , this print info is good, not  an error: I has got the correct branch  kernel & uboot of imx6.

I could build all Android L5.0.1 ok: after compile, I could get  boot-imx6q.img, recovery-imx6q.img, system.img , u-boot-imx6q.imx.

there is another problem when I burn thease img into emmc  on I.MX 6 Series SABREE board.

Steps:

         1.  I push thease img into mfgtools\Profiles\Linux\OS Firmware\files\android\sabresd  (mfgtools for Android L5.0.0.1 is download form Freescale website)

         2. Set SW6 into burn model, so mfgtool will show "HID xxx" info

         3. double click  "mfgtool2-android-mx6q-sabresd-emmc.vbs"

         4. uart will print thease info, but mfg tool will pause, will not continue to burn img files:

Hi all

   I has found the reason: usb otg host/device switch

   The Test Board is  Fresscale  IMX6 Official Demo board we has add a hardware switch for  otg host or device.

   we use this hardware as usual: download Android 4.4.2 ok, but dowload Android 5.0.2 failed.

   Today, I remove this hardware switch, yes, download Android 5.0.2 ok , After I set SW6 to boot model, power on board, Android 5.0.2 show good.

   Best regards

Hello Cagatay Buyuktopcu,

I reproduced this behavior and it’s not so much an error but a notice. After the last command you’re checking out the branch so you can work locally. Any changes made won’t be updated on the git servers.

You should be able to follow up with patching the source code after this. Please let us know if you encounter errors when patching the code.

Sidenote: Just in case any community user what’s to follow these steps, these are also listed on the Android User’s Guide. After  checkout android-4.4.3_r1 you would need to go back to home with  cd ~ in order for cd myandroid to work.
