Use VOUT33 to power other devices

Hello,

Can I use the VOUT33 pin to power other devices? It seems that it is pretty stable under 120mA and my board should be using far less than that.

If I have a dual power source option (5V via USB/VREGIN, or 3.3V from elsewhere) but only one of then will remain active at a given time (user choice), can I connect the VOUT33 and the 3.3V straight to each other without damaging the MCU? Maybe adding a schottky between them? I am using a KL43 chip.

Thx

Hello Thiago,

Indeed, you can use the VOUT33 to power another devices.

Provided that you adhere to the USB VREG electrical specifications mentioned on the KL43 datasheet, there will be no problems with the LPO from the USB regulator.

In this case the maximum output current the LPO can provide is up to 120 mA.

Please be aware that the external circuit is not demanding more than this current, 120 mA.

Hope this information will be useful for you.

Have a great day.

Best Regards, :smileyhappy:

David Diaz.
