Why Ethernet can not achieve Gigabit throughput capacity

Dear consultor:

On Imx6dl platform, we used Micrel KSZ9031RNX PHY IC,

When we connect device with Gigabit mode, we test PHY throughput capacity. But it just can achieve 230Mbit.

While in another test, we use a banchmark(Imx6dl + Qualcomm AR8033 PHY IC), with Gigabit mode, but we also achieve the similar throughput capacity.

So here is my question:

1.would you please help us to analyse why we can not get 400Mbit throughput capacity as Spec.

2.Is there any limitation in imx6dl plaform to limit the PHY throughput capacity. So we can just adjust this item to improve PHY throughput capacity.

3.In other way if we can change platform source code or set up hardware to improve PHY capacity.

4.Do you have any document about this problem, please share with us

Thank you very much

HI jerry

suggest to look at code optimizations given in

About Gigabit Ethernet performance gap between Android&Linux

Best regards
