KDS 3.0 supports KEA Series, but KSDK 1.2 does not. Is that correct?
If yes, when is it supposed to be supported?
Thanks a lot
HLE

Hi Helmut,
KDS V.3.0 supports KEA family, you are right
but unfortunatelly - there is no KSDK support for Automotive - KEA series.
Currently we do not have any plan for the family.
If will be some changes I will let you know.
Have a nice day!
Best Regards,
Iva
Hi,
What do you suggest to use as development environment for KEA series.
Hi Nirmala,
I suggest to you choose on of the option mentioned here
Kinetis KEA|ARM Cortex-M0+|32-bit Automotive MCUs|NXP
I hope this helps!
Best Regards,
Iva
Thanks Iva. Do you suggest using KDS or S32 Design Studio for kEA128 developement.
Hi Nirmala.
I suggest S32 Design Studio for Automotive MCUs.
We have a big space for answering questions regarding this IDE S32 Design Studio
The newest KDS v.3.2 is supposed to be used in combination with KSDK and KEA family is not supported by KSDK.
There is project wizard to create bare metal, Kinetis KDK v1.x and v2 and Processor Expert software projects.
Or you can use KDS 3.0 with PEx and use LDD components to initialize and configure their peripherals.
In case of any questions, please let me know.
Best Regards,
Iva

Hello Iva,
still no news about KEA (or at least KE) support in KSDK?
I would like to replace Coldfire V1 MCF51JM with Kinetis and KEA128 seems to be the best solution.
Thanks,
Martin
Hello Martin,
at the moment no, KEA is no currently on the roadmap.
Sorry for the inconvenience this may caused.

Hi Helmut
The uTasker project supports KEA family in KDS:
This includes KBOOT compatible loader and simulation of the device and boards.
Note however that the KEA devices are very similar to KE parts so you can in fact use a KE project and make just a few changes to work on the KEAs.

Mark
Kinetis: µTasker Kinetis support
KE: µTasker FRDM-KE02Z support / µTasker FRDM-KE02Z40M support / µTasker FRDM-KE06Z support
KEA: µTasker TRK-KEA128 support
For the complete "out-of-the-box" Kinetis experience and faster time to market
