Hi all, I am new here and also to Kinetis series I am evaluating again.

My platform is Linux Mint 17.1 on a Sony laptop, just installed Kinetis Design Studio and SDK without trouble and all is fine and clean well designed used installed eclipse.

My final small issue I don't know how to import or setup a project for this platform, can someone tell me where can I find some hint or guide me just on hello world?

I read on a thread here that FRDM-K64F | mbed has no CAN, from communication peripheral list is present and also it appear on data sheet. Selector are perfect but I wish a low cost board to experiment code porting before design final one, how can I search CAN enabled from FRDM or can someone suggest me series K2?

From both series of evaluation boards  the connector is odd, Arduino with off grid .05 inch I also hate due to non high speed design and poor ground layout; Tower series has a too complex to use connector.

Tank you very much.

Roberto

Hi Roberto

Since the FRDM-K64F doesn't have a CAN tranceiver on-board you will need to add this via the connector.

You can get a KDS project for the FRDM-K64F with USB, Ethernet and CAN (also with a serial interface/USB/Telnet shell which is like a "Hello, World!" output for first steps) from the links below. See also the video link on importing it into CW/KDS, plus the video link concerning FlexCAN.

Hi Mark thank a lot for kind and fast answer, I realized late reading about composite USB device on kinets board a link to cloud storage was to establish. I don't have hardware now and I am planning to buy soon.

I identified K64F target has both Ethernet and CAN BUS, I am also seeking a dev board if available on CLASS K2X with single or dual can support plus two or more uart. Yes of course I have ready to use drivers for both RS485 and CANBUS I am using,

What I lso need is a professional support and low spam on forum, with spam I also include my actual request if too much frequent, I need just few time to learn about wording of Kinetis and get in touch with other here.

Kind regards.

Roberto
