Hi,
I was unable to boot up the board now. Unless I change to alternative bank using "pix altbank". Could you suggest what could be the reasons and possible solution?
Here are the error message during boot-up:

Hello Peter Zheng,
Please change to the working bank and check whether the network is available with ping command, if no problem in this bank, please configure the u-boot environment variables of the problem bank following the working bank.
Thanks,
Yiping
Hello Peter,
Would you please type "Enter" at "Hit any key to stop autoboot: 0", and use "pri" command to get u-boot environment and share it?
According to your log, it seems that there is problem with bootm command.
Thanks,
Yiping

Hello Peter,
There is problem with your boot parameters.
If you want to use ramboot, please configure bootcmd as the following
=>setenv bootcmd 'setenv bootargs root=/dev/ram rw console=$consoledev,$baudrate $othbootargs;tftp $ramdiskaddr $ramdiskfile;tftp $loadaddr $bootfile;tftp $fdtaddr $fdtfile;bootm $loadaddr $ramdiskaddr $fdtaddr'

Please also configure serverip

Hello Peter,
I suppose you have tftp network environment, and want to use ramboot method,
First please use "ping 192.168.2.1" command in u-boot to make sure the server is available.
Please put uImage, fsl-image-core-p4080ds.ext2.gz.u-boot and uImage-p4080ds.dtb files in /tftpboot/ folder on the server.
=>setenv bootcmd 'setenv bootargs root=/dev/ram rw console=ttyS0,115200;tftp 2000000 fsl-image-core-p4080ds.ext2.gz.u-boot;tftp 1000000 uImage;tftp c00000 uImage-p4080ds.dtb;bootm 1000000 2000000 c00000'
=>save
=>boot
If your problem remains, please provide your boot log?
Have a great day,
Yiping

Hi Yiping,
Just FYI, I am following this document to set up the environment.
http://cache.freescale.com/files/soft_dev_tools/doc/support_info/QorIQ-SDK-1.6-IC-RevB.pdf
Regards,
Peter
Hello Peter Zheng,
Please make sure you configured the physical network connection correctly, for P4080DS 5G mode, FM1@DTSEC2 is EC2 RGMII on the target board, since you configured ethact as FM1@DTSEC2 in u-boot.
In addition, please make sure IP 192.168.2.66 is available not in collision with other devices.
Thanks,
Yiping

Hello Peter Zheng,
Please change to the working bank and check whether the network is available with ping command, if no problem in this bank, please configure the u-boot environment variables of the problem bank following the working bank.
Thanks,
Yiping
Hi Yiping,
Currently I am able to ping my host system from the u-boot environment. But I still failed to TFTP the file to my system. It always timed out when I type "tftp 1000000 u-boot.bin".
Could you suggest what could be the problem?
Regards,
Peter Zheng
Hi Yiping,
In the working bank, I tried to ping. It shows the following information:
=> ping 172.21.72.122
FM1@DTSEC2 Waiting for PHY auto negotiation to complete......... TIMEOUT !
FM1@DTSEC2: No link.
Using FM1@TGEC1 device
ping failed; host 172.21.72.122 is not alive
Could you suggest how to solve this issue?
Regards,
Peter
Hi Yiping,
I agree with your opinion. It seems it is a physical connection problem. Currently I was connecting both my host system and the P4080DS board to a switch. I connect the switch to the Codewarrior TAP. Is this correct? Or should I connect the Ethernet directly to the back of the P4080DS Board?
Btw, the host system IP address is 172.21.72.82. In this case, in the u-boot setup, shoudl I follow your setting for ip, or use this?
Thanks,
Peter
Hi Yiping,
When I was in uboot, I ping 192.168.2.1. It shows "ping failed; host 192.168.2.1 is not alive". In this case, what should I do?
Thanks,
Peter
