We’re running into a complicated problem with the i.MX53 CSI port. We’ve changed from bringing in single still images to streaming video for a particular project and the frame rate he sees is half the frame rate the imager is putting out. We’re trying to trace it down here, but we’re not sure if it’s something not getting set up correctly in the driver or what. Are there any known problem with the driver or something.
We have looked further into the problem and it’s a hard one to solve. We’ve modified the software to dump more diagnostic info and I modified the FPGA that routes the data from the VITA2000 imager to the CSI port to generate a start of frame (SOF) interrupt to the i.MX53. We definitely see two SOFs for every frame the i.MX53 sees. We’ve looked at the config registers in the CSI and they are not set to bring in interlaces video. So, it must be some kind of frame skipping mechanism getting turned on somewhere.
