I am planning on building a pitot-tube style fluid dynamic velocity sensor for use in sea-water.

I would like to ask about your sensor series:

“MPX5050

Rev 11, 03/2010”

In the datasheet it says:

“The MPX5050/MPXV5050G se

ries pressure sensor

operating characteristics, and internal reliability and

qualification tests are based on use of dry air as the pressure

  1. media. Media, other than dry air, may have adverse effects on

sensor performance and long-term reliability. Contact the

factory for information regarding

media compatibility in your

  1. application.”

Hence my inquiry is: does it work in sea-water?
