I don't see the exact chip available in KDS that is on the FRDM-K22F, it is a MK22FN512VLH12.  The options are MK22FN1M0xxx12 or MK22FX512xxx12.  I tried compiling a bare project for both of them but when run they go right to a cpu fault.  I must be missing something.

Hi Josh,

Ok but I believe you mean to say to check for KDS updates do the following:

Help->Install New Software.

The Check for Updates is actually checking if there are Eclispe updates.  Best to leave that up to the KDS team which will update and test accordingly before doing a push for an update via the "Install New Software" process.

Regards,

David

Hi Josh,

Short answer: FRDM-K22F has MK22FN512VLH12 MCU.

Longer answer:

From the Freescale Freedom website pick your FRDM board:

http://www.freescale.com/freedom

Pick the FRDM-K22F

FRDM-K22F|Freedom Development Board|Kinetis|Freescale

This site has the MCU listed as well.

Click on the Downloads tab to go to:

FRDM-K22F|Freedom Development Board|Kinetis|Freescale

Here you can download schematics and other board related material.

In KDS1.1.1 when you do a File->New->Kinetis Design Studio Project under the Processor you want to select MK22F (120MHz) MK22FN512xxx12.

Regards,

David

The issue is fixed by opening KDS and going to Help->Check for Updates.  It will then install an option for the MK22FN512VLH12.
