My customer is considering the implementation of workaround#2 for errata ERR006282 of i.MX6.

And they have a question on the workaround#2 of ERR006282.

Could you show me how to turn off the watchdog timer specifically?

once enabled WDog can not be disabled.

From sect.70.7.1 Watchdog Control Register (WDOGx_WCR) IMX6DQRM

WDT,WDE is a write one once only bit.

The following description is written in the errata document(IMX6DQCE Rev.4).

Note: If the WDOG_ENABLE fuse is set, users who utilize the Freescale

Manufacturing Tool or a customized version of the tool must ensure the

kernel that is downloaded via the tool contains the instruction to turn off the

watchdog timer. Otherwise, the watchdog will continue to count down and

reset the part.

Does the "instruction to turn off the WDT" mean reloading the timer, or things like that?

seems "instruction to turn off the WDT"

is misprint, since it is not possible to turn off

WDT once enabled, according to RM

I think it must include the instructions to make WDT not expired, rather than 'turn off the WDT'.
