Hello,

While debugging a part of code I am getting this message in command window.

FCS Warning (ID 25): writing to reserved register at pc = 0xfe8041'L. Value: 0xFE, Memory Address: 0x5. MEBI module is affected

Can someone tell me why does this come what could be the possible solution.

TIA.
Arindam

Hello Arindam,

I'm afraid I don't have much information to help you.
However, the message seems clear to me:

Your application is writting where it should not because it is reserved space.

It's all I can say with what you gave.

Cheers,
Alban.

Hello,

Just to add to the previous details, I am not testing the code on target but only on simulator. So anyone having a CW can also reproduce the bug, with the project provided by me on request, and try and analyse. Just for information I have raised a service request as well with Request Number 1-387190247.
Anyone having access to that also can go through it as i have sent my project also on that request no.

Cheers,
Arindam.

Hello

Which version of CodeWarrior are you using?
To retrieve that info:
   - Start CodeWarrior
   - Select Help -> About Freescale CodeWarrior
   - Click on "Install Products"
   - CodeWarrior version used is displayed on top in the Installed Products dialog.

I assume you are debugging in the simulator.
Which device simulation module did you load?
To retrieve that info:
   - Start the simulator the usual way
  - Select "HCS12X FCS" -> "Set Derivative"
    What is written there?

Well as mentioned earlier I am using MC9S12XDP512 derivative and the CW version is HC12 4.5, Build 6037.

You might want to post relevant info such as which cpu, which debug/programming tool and which CW version you are using.
