I'm kickstarting with L1defense application on B4860QDS - SDK1.6. Need some info to understand the functionality.

Hi,

DSP is Digital Signal Processor, it could be dependent SOC(MSC8156/7), or SC3900 which is DSP core as here in B4860, that's so called heterogeneous.

SDOS is SmartDSP OS, this is OS developed by Freescale for StarCores.

StarCore here in B4860 is the core where LTE/WCDMA L1 runs.

DSP: Refers to SDOS running star core here.
B4860 is a heterogeneous SoC, with PA(e6500) and Star core(SC3900)

L1 defense is software resurrection/recovery methodology,

Where the PA recovers the SDOS running on SC when it has gone into faulty/crashed state.
