CSI_REXT pin of i.MX6Q

Hello,

We made a custom i.MX6 board with a MIPI interface.

But, unfortunately we din't connect the resistor ( 6.04K) to CSI_REXT  pin.

Will the D-PHY of i.MX6 MIPI receiver be able to receive MIPI signals without this resistor being connected?

Is there anything we can try to receive MIPI signals other than a  board spin?

Thank you!

regards,

sonu

Hi,

what happens when the PCIE_REXT Resistor is not assembled?

Is it possible that PCIe works anyway?

Hi Sonu

this resistor at CSI_REXT sets reference current for MIPI CSI

input circuits, it defines impedance characteristics given in sect.4.11.12

"MIPI D-PHY Timing Parameters" i.MX6DQ Reference Manual (rev.1  4/2013).

Without this resistor there will be mismatch of impedances and probably

MIPI interface will not work at all.

Hello Chip,

Thank you for the reply.

We will have a re-spin of the board.

I am trying to verify if concept is working with the help of sabre board.

We wired the MIPI lines from our custom board to sabre evaluation board as shown below.

Still evaluatiion board is not able to receive MIPI signals.

Unfortunately the PHY_STATUS registers value is 0x200, saying its not able to receive even clockl.

Is there anything fundamentally wrong with the setup?

Hi Sonu

for MIPI sensor you can look at i.MX6 SDP schematic

it has OV5640 MIPI sensor on board

"MX6_SABRE_SDP_DESIGNFILES "

Regarding other problems - sorry, please create new thread.
