Whither Branch imx_3.10.17_1.0.0_ga?

I noticed yesterday that a new branch named "imx_3.10.17_1.0.0_ga" has appeared on Freescale's linux-imx-2.6 git repository.  This is the first activity to appear in nearly four months.  A few dumb questions:

  • What is the nature of this branch?  The "ga" suffix is ambiguous (it could mean "general access," or it could be short for "gamma" (the letter after beta)).
  • Is this a final release for Yocto Dora?  If not, when is a final release anticipated?
  • There are some PCIe patches we've applied that do not appear to be in "ga".  In particular, there's a patch we applied that more correctly changes the link to Gen2 speeds.  "ga" appears to have no functional equivalent to this patch.

Our 3.10.17-1.0.0 update is finally going live and is currently in field trial end of this week.  These are public branches you can review.

Until field trial is done there is possibility of some changes so we will not announce until field trial is over.

GA means General Availability.  We have 3 releases alpha, beta and GA.
