Any time I see a problem with a fresh install not running properly, my first thought is it could be a Windows permissions problems. If you downloaded the install from the internet onto a Windows 7 machine, the default behavior is for Windows to set the properties of the exe file to Blocked. If you do not edit the properties of the install file (CW_MCU_v10.4_SE_Offline.exe was mine) and unblock it before running it, it will look like it installed but will give you all kinds of errors. Assuming you used the default folder, check the properties for C:\Freescale\CW MCU v10.4\eclipse\cwide.exe. If the properties show the file is blocked, uninstall everything, unblock the install exe file and reinstall everything. I hope this helps you.
