Need a popular stable and stable distro for a imx28 automotive headless device. Currently it carries Angstrom distro, kernel 2.6.35.
I suspect that there other linux distro with strong and active communities may suit this board as well.
Yocto supports mx28evk board and you also have the possibility to use it with kernel 3.11.

What does this mean? What about other drivers of the device that support linux 2.6.35?
By default, meta-fsl-arm (Yocto layer for imx) will generate an image based on 2.6.35.
You have the option to use either 2.6.35 or 3.11.
