how to check Bluetooth from an androidized kernel?

Question asked by Abraham Varricatt on Sep 3, 2013

I have a custom board built around the iMX6 dual core processor. It's running android version 4.2 and has a wl1271 chipset connected (for wifi and bluetooth). The bluetooth interface is via UART.

Theoretically, the pin multiplexing has been done and UART initialized. But does anyone know how the bluetooth module could be tested/probed from linux command line? As for android 4.2, google has shifted to using the "bluedroid" libraries and I'm not sure what application could be used in conjunction with this to test the module.

PS: I know this is not an iMX6 question, but I'm not sure where else to ask.
