Android rel 9.2 has been functioning and stable for us for 2 years.  Adding Wi-Fi support and as such considering update to current release  :smileyconfused:.

Looking for recommendations/thoughts and any input on whether I should go 9.4.2 or jump to 10.3.2.

Appreciate any and all thoughts!  :smileyhappy:

thanks all!!

Hello, Mike,

Since R10.4 android is final version for I.MX5x, It means some bugs in previous version should be fixed in 10.4 version, For wifi issue, I suggest you had better do special test on your i.mx51 hardware platform, and get real performance of WIFI.

Now wifi is working fine on your present platform, it means your hardware is enough stable, So I think it is worth testing wifi based on R10.4. Do you think so ?

Regards,

Weidong

Weidong.    I am at wits end.

I have updated Ubuntu to 10.04-64-bit and built R10.4 successfully (per the User_Guide R10.4,  build as -user) - successfully - meaning it boots, loads and runs 10.4 perfectly.

However - I have become stymied at connecting adb from the MX51EVK running this new built (SDcard) Android R10.4 to my WindowsXP-PC.  I have updated adb and modified adb_usb.ini (adding 0x15a2) and killed/restarted the adb server.  All to no avail.  When booting the MX51EVK in R9.2 - all is fine - it immediately finds and connects as "Android Phone".  When booting R10.4 on this same setup, the USB drivers cannot find suitable device drivers for "MX51 BBG Android".  and subsequently 'adb devices' finds nothing.

I've executed all steps multiple times, ensured debugging is enabled on the device and that default.prop has ro.secure=0 ro.allow.mock.location=1 ro.debuggable=1 persist.service.adb.enable=1.

I have been fighting this for 3 days now and am completely stumped.  Any ideas would be REALLY appreciated!.

Thanks,

mike
