Rule Clarification: A condition for disqualification:  "Any auxiliary lighting equipment or other auxiliary sensors is used around the race track.".

I assume this does not include any lighting you may want to add to your vehicle correct?

(Per 2013 rule set)

Correct.  On-vehicle lighting can be added.  This rule is intended for off vehicle 'stuff'.

One further point of clarification:

Does the on vehicle lighting need to be powered by the 7.2V battery or can the lights have a separate battery?

You can use a separate battery.  Many a team attach an aftermarket flashlight to the chassis.  This is okay.

John,

I am thinking to attach my XMEGA Xprotolab scope to the camera so I can get live camera feedback for adjustments, etc.  It uses Atmel MCU though-- would that be allowed?  Not involved in any processing-- just a visual thing for me.

I would probably say we disable for the actual timed race event just so nobody calls foul.  For debugging use it!

Yeah, I won’t need to power it during the race.  Just for testing.
