Hello everyone. I would like to know how surface mount Freescale micro-controllers are programmed. Does Freescale offer to do this at the factory? Thanks.
Generally speaking, regading MCU programing, there're two cases:
1. MCU is mounted on PCB before programed. In such case, Programmers can use a cable to connect to BDM port (for S08 ) on the board to program MCUs. P&E provides such kind of programmers, for example P&E Cyclone Pro
2. We also can program MCUs directly by some dedicated programmers, there are one or more sockets in
the programmer, Put MCUs in them, one GUI in PC side can control the programming.
For example, Hilo System provides such kind of programmers
Hope those information will be helpful.
