iMX6Q: HDMI not working

Hello,

I'm working on a custom iMX6Q board (similar to imx6 sabre smart device). HDMI is not working when display connected using DVI-D connector. I'm using LTIB based linux image (linux 3.0.35)

- HDMI hot plug feature is working (verfied through /sys/class/devices/....)

- EDID information is read out correctly

- HDMI_CEC feature is disabled

- I have observed the HDMI_PHY_STAT0 register. The RX_SENSE bits remain low. Could not figure out what that indicates as iMX6 datasheet does not give much information.

- HDMI data & clock lines remain low when probed using oscilloscope.

Any inputs will be of help to me.

-Pj

Could you share the information about this?

Many thanks,

Hi Kelvin,

Sorry for late reply, I saw this thread only today.

Case your issue is not yet solved:

Mine was a hardware design issue (nothing in software) and it is fixed now. Which ESD Protection chip are you using?

I am facing the same issue for the past one week. I have used a HDMI to VGA converter and connected a VGA display. I could not see any thing in my VGA monitor. Can you help me about what and how to configure the display

It was a hardware issue. Hot Plug was working but the ESD chip wasn't wired up correctly. I'm using a differnt ESD chip but this thread details the same issue No display on HDMI Panel

Please use "true" HDMI connection (not HDMI-DVI adapter)

Please check the IPU DI clock whether is enable firstly.

The HDMI PHY work depend on pixel clock.
