New moderator approval requirement

Hello,

I notice that, as of now, posts to threads in the 8-bit forum (at least) require the approval of a moderator before they are displayed. An earlier post of today did not have this new requirement.  Perhaps this requirement should now be explained in detail.  I was not aware that inappropriate posts had ever been a significant problem.

However, I can see some significant drawbacks.

  1. The receipt of answers to each problem will be delayed, maybe by hours, and potentially by a day or more at weekends.  This delay is likely to be more so for posts from "time-shifted" locations within the world.
  2. There is now much reduced opportunity for the person making the post to edit their post, often to correct simple formatting errors.  And how much editing time is then available once the moderator decides to allow a post?

Regards,

Mac

Thanks.  This post got caught by our spam filters.  We are not moderating all post in the 8-bit space.  In this situation the repetitive use of the * (*************) flagged the spam filter.  This was a common string used in some of the spam post the community was receiving.
My apologies for the inconvenience.
