EUF-CON-T1366_i.MX28_Hands-On_Training document explain to make a kernel of i.MX287. By this documentation, two independent kernel have to be made to support "L2 SWITCH MODE" and "FEC ethernet controller Mode(Bypass mode)". So to use two modes during operation, reset is necessary to switch the kernel driver.

But our application is not allowed to be reset during this changing. So we try to find any possible solution for changing Ethernet mode during operation.

Any suggestion for making merged kernel that is having "L2 switch operation" and "Ethernet controller operation" will be appreciate.

Best Regards,

Vincent

Hello there !

Sorry to revive a very old thread :-). I have the same issue, right now, I have two kernel configurations, which is a pain. Would it be possible to change the module and support both modes or is it a hardware issue ?

Thanks,
JM

Hello Yixing,

I'm also interest on this issue. I've to reconfigure the ethernet mode (independent or switch) during operation.

Thanks

Jordi
