I have a SABRE Lite and I was wondering if it was possible to power it via USB rather than the main adapter.

The adapter can provide 4A @5V, and as far as i know usb 2.0 only provides 500mA, so i dont think powering from usb is possible... btw,the datasheet says it requires >5W power just to turn on the board without any peripheral

Thanks for the help. I found a work around of sorts. Although it can't be powered through the USB port like a lot of the lower powered boards. I was able to power it via a USB to Type M cable, so use my laptop and the existing power socket and it worked fine.
