SGMII (1000BASE-X) communication between two P1020 processors

Hello,

A P1020 on one board is connected to a P1020 on another board using the SGMII lines through a SERDES. Since there is no PHY involved I suppose we should call this 1000BASE-X communication. Could you please confirm that the P1020 supports 1000BASE-X? What would be different from building an SGMII driver connected to a PHY?
