MX28 Ethernet unstable issue in MX28-L2.6.35_10.12.01_SDK release. -blog archive

In MX28-L2.6.35_10.12.01_SDK release , with MX28 EVK, sometimes Ethernet link can't establish.

Solution:

On MX28 EVK board, the PHY REF_CLK is from MX28 ENET_CLK which will be turn off when eth is not used. So when ENET_CLK is on, we also need reset PHY before ENET controller is reset.

The mainline kernel version is not 2.6.35.

Thanks for the link. I also wanted to note here that the mainline kernel (as of Mar 14, commit f1cbd03f5eabb75e...) does not seem to have the FEC issue.
