CKIL on i.MX51

I'd like to know if the 32 khz oscillator tied to CKIL pin is really necessary to let the processor start. The datasheet is not clear about that, so I cannot tell from it if the processor can start with a single 24 MHz crystal tied to XTAL and EXTAL pins only or not. The description about the CLK_SS pin seems to indicate that I don't need the 32 khz, but again the text is not "crystal" clear.

Can anyone out there point me to some documentation about that?  Thanks.

Well, I don't like unanswered questions, and since now I know the answer, I'll tell you.

The i.MX51 really needs the 32 khz signal that feeds the CKIL input because it's internally used to stretch the reset signal, so if there is no pulse at CKIL input, the reset state will stand forever (it needs 3 CKIL cycles to release the internal reset).

That's it, case closed.
