Hello

No clue what happens here.

You need to submit a service request  for that.

Have you tried switching off the Windows Firewall or any anti-virus software? The installer's behavior can appear similar to a virus program trying to inject code into the system. The fact that the installer halts just as it's attempting its first write to the drive hints that something, possibly anti-viral software, is blocking the operation.

Also, are you the administrator of the machine? Your login needs administrator access so that the installer can write files to the drive.

Sorry if these questions are obvious, but we need to get these issues out of the way to be able to help.

I switched off all the anti virus and firewall programs but it doesn't help. I am administrator of the machine. To be sure that you understand my problem: When I have chosen a installation folder I can click on "next" button as much as I want and nothing hppens. Afterwards I can click on "cancel" "back" or "change" button and they are working as normal. So the installation wizard is working as he should but he doesn't react to the "next" button.

thanks for your help

No, I got that part. You want it to start the install and it won't let you. That's what made me suspect an antivirus program. Clearly the installer isn't blowing up, but it is instead balking at something.

Next question: are you using the default folder suggested by the installer or one of your own? Are there blanks in the directory path name for the target directory? If so, try using a directory without blanks.

Is there enough room on the hard drive?

I tried to use the default folder and a folder of my own without blanks. But in both cases it didn't work. The path of the default folder is: C:\Programme\Freescale\CodeWarrior for HC08 V5.1\ So there are blanks but they are generated by the installer.

I have more than 20Gb free space on my hard drive. That should be enough.

My last stab at this: Do you have MS Office 2007 installed? That has affected the CodeWarrior IDE's operations, and I'm wondering it it might also affect the installer. Is there another system you can try installing CW on? Beyond that, you're gong to have to follow Crasycat's advice and submit an SR. I'm stumped at this point.

I have Office 97 installed, so I don't think that's the problem. I,ll submit a SR. When I'm successfull I'll tell you.

Thanks for your help

Some other things to try while you wait for a response to your support request:
1)  Clean and polish your CD, and check it for scratches.  (A scratch can happen no
matter how careful you are, and can cause weird problems like the one you describe.)
I once had a CD that had a bug squashed on it:smileyhappy:

2)  Download the CW files from Freescale and try loading from there.  (If you have the same problem, you've at least eliminated the CD as the culprit...)  (This is only practical if you have a broadband connection...)

What OS are you trying to install under?

I could not make the installation work under Windows 98, and ended up installing to Win2000 first, then moving everything to Win98.
