I've received an iMX53 QSB recently, sch Rev E. An microSD came within the package, labeled as "MX535START UBUNTU77347C L2.6.35_11.01ER". I believe its preloaded with Ubuntu. First put this SD into rugular SD slot with no luck, then into microSD card. So u-boot runs, kernel starts to load but hangs afler initializing USB. I haven't change any u-boot parameter. It's all stock SD. Where should i check? Any idea? Regards Ahmet

Did anyone solve this? I'm having the same problem.  Boots and last line displayed is:

"usbcore: registered new interface driver usb-storage"

Then appears to crash.

Tried with USB Key/mouse, no key/mouse, powered hub, .... same results.

I have solve the problem, maybe can give you some advice.

PS:Power Consumption

First,I use a 5V-2A power source,imx53 boot fail after init usb.For the board will driver usb keyboard and mouse, and a VGA display,I considered if power is enough.

Then I use a 5V-4A power source, the board boot OK.

Theoretically,5V-2A is enough,but sometimes,power source's quality should be considered.

Same problem. With USB peripherals my board hangs up always.

Without peripherals the board hangs up 9/10.  :DDD

If you have an oscilloscope, watch the 5v rail as the system starts. The board has very little "tank" capacitance on its input. When the USB devices are turned on the power supply can "brown out".

Found the problem, lower USB port should be left unconnected. I've attached a USB hub into the upper USB port and connected mouse & keyboard it.
