Hi!!
there's somebody that can tell me what is the difference between mc68hc908gp32 and mc68hc908gp32a? i have some books: "datasheet of mc68hc908gp32a" in which i found the MON08 schematics. also i have "technical data of mc68hc908gp32" i which doesn't appears some technical facts of the other.. i'm so confused. S.O.S please....
the only difference i have noticed is the book's size and publication's date.
i'm looking for a way to make my own Homemade MON08 modified connector, and i need this info..

i have a 4.9152 MHz crystal and i want to use it. i can't understand the osc schematics of an2317/d application note. is a tiny circuit that gives only one osc1 signal (as pwm i think).

thanks!!!!!

Hello,

Look at the oscillator section in the electrical characteristics of the datasheet.
GP32 is likely to be for a 32kHz crystal and
GP32A is likely to be for >1MHz crystals.

No change in MON08 itself as you cannot get MON08 connection with a 32kHz.
This frequency gives a too low baud rate, not always possible on computers and not reliable.

Armand.

The GP32 is one of the older 908 parts, so I don't remember exactly what the change was, but more than likely it was a die change which didn't affect the MON08 circuitry.

If I were you, I would consider the 908AP32.  It's a newer part with similar features and less expensive.

Or the 9S08GB32, better features + built in BDM.
