Well, I'd have to ask why they made the BDM 'custom' to the board and not the 6-pin header the BDM pods (the USB BDM Multilink for example) generally come with. I didn't look that close, but whenever I see something like that, I assume there's an engineer with 'the clevers' out there and if there's other issues down the road, guess who will be stuck solving them?

But, and I didn't do more than glance at it, if it works with the BDM, even if you have to make a custom pin translation adapter, go for it.

However, I would think it might be easier to find one the 9S12Badge boards that are floating around. I've used them to do a LOT of my prototyping, and even some complete projects. Same kind of idea, a small board with CPU and minimal support, like power and one serial line, and pins to tie to anything you want. I think at most they went for $62 when new. (I got my first ones for $12 by attending a 'Future' seminal and getting a $50 coupon to make it come out to '12' dollars.) They've been discontinued for a while, but they're still out there. I needed a couple more last fall and my Future rep found them for me in a couple of hours. They were used, but they worked fine.

Mike

Just noticed, are you out of the US? I see the board you're refering to is non-US. If that's an issue, then that's also something to consider...
