I notice that CW has support for users of CVS. Is there plans to also support SVN?

Hello

All supported version control plug ins are enumerated at following URL:

http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/overview.jsp?nodeId=01272600613367

We do not have support for SVN.

Hi

You say you dont support SVN. That was in 2006 - do you now support it? Thanks

Hey, Freescale supports SVN in CW10 now, though they may not be aware of that :smileyhappy: Since CW10 is now eclipse based, you can install subclipse plugin into it from subversion.tigris.org or optionally subversive from eclipse.org.

That is not easy though. CW10 has a complex configuration, so simple Eclipse's update process does not work as expected. You may need to unzip the plugins manually into eclipse subfolder of the CW10 directory.

Still, CW7.2 does not support svn yet.

Thanks for the reply.

My question is "will you support SVN". That is, are you planning to support SVN anytime soon?

I presume not :smileysad:

Looks like I'll have to consider making my own plugin :smileysad:

So...where do get the SDK?

Reading the PDFs, it refers to 1) it's on the CD, and 2) you can download. I can't find the SDK on the CD - is it there? I tried the suggested link (http://www.metrowerks.com/support/api/), which doesn't work.

Has freescale withdrawn support for the SDK/API? Or is it just hard to find.

Hi,

Im having the same is and was interested to know if you had created a plug-in for svn or had managed to get round the problem in some other way?

I have no idea how to write my own pug-in so any pointers you can give would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Dave

Hi, Bruce:

Everything on the Freescale Website is hard to find. :smileywink:

But I don't think support has been withdrawn. Here is a quote from a whitepaper that Freescale published in November (emphasis added):

"Each kind of plug-in communicates with the IDE through a platform-neutral, fully documented Application Programming Interface (API). This enables third-party developers to create fully integrated additions to the CodeWarrior armory of tools."

The whitepaper is here:
http://www.freescale.com/files/soft_dev_tools/doc/white_paper/CWARCHADWP.pdf

So all I can say is keep looking, but file a support request anyway.

Thanks for the reply.

I thought this *was* the support forum for CW.

I've found that someone has already made a start on a SVN plugin - http://www.soundgeek.org/software/SubversionPlugin/ needs updating to the current CW IDE though.

Anyone from Freescale/Metroworks have any answers?

Any CW users with comments on using CVS/SVN with CW?
