Problems with PEMicro and ColdFire M5213EVB

I am having difficulties getting this to work and was just wondering if there is someone that can point me in the proper direction.  I am just trying to run a sample application on the board and want to use the CodeWarrior software and the P&E Microsystems USB wiggler.  When I select to Debug the project in the Code Warrior I am receiving the following error "PEMicroProtocolPlugin : Can't connect to PEMicro".

Is this an issue with the BDM, an issue with the evaluation board or something with the software and drivers on my computer.  If anyone has any suggestions as to what I should try that would be great.

I have already removed and reinstalled the drivers for the PEMicro device.

Thanks,
- John

The version information on the top of the Installed Products Dialog is Version 6.0 Build 8, The version information for the IDE is 5.7.1844.

The project was created from a stationery as called out in the instructions for building a sample application.  The stationery that was used was Coldfire Stationery and the C tree level under the CF_M5213EVB was selected.  The linker that was selected was the Embedded Coldfire Linker.  The connection for the Remote Debugger was PEMICRO_USB.  The target processor selected was 5213 and the target OS was Bareboard.

The revision of the USB Multilink Cable is Rev C.

I have checked in Device Manager and there are no yellow exclamations viewable.  The only new item when the Multilink Cable is connected is a Jungo device and under that is the USB Multilink 2.0.

Let me know if there is any other information that I can provide that may let you tell what is happening.

Thanks again for your help.

Hello

When you connect your USB cable to the Host PC and when you power up your board are the LEDs switched ON?

I am not sure whether CodeWarrior for ColdFire V6.0 supports USB Multilink Rev C.
Could you eventually make a try with CodeWarrior Coldfire V6.2?

Other that this I think you better submit a service request through the web to our support department.

Hello

Which version of CodeWarrior are you using (V6.2, ...)?
To retrieve the version number select Help -> About Metrowerks codeWarrior  and click on Installed products button.
What is written on top on the Installed Products dialog?

Which remote connection did you associate with the project?
Did you create your project from a stationery?

Which is the revision number of your USB Multilink cable?

The LEDs were all lighting as required.  Upgrading to Version 6.2 did fix the issue.  Upon the first communication it upgraded the firmware on the Multilink device from what I could tell and then I could communicate correctly.  Once it worked with version 6.2 I did try it with version 6.0 and it also worked then.

Thanks for all the help.

Myself and an engineer at another location have the same problem where we get "PEMicroProtocolPlugIn: Can't connect to PEMicro" whenever we try to connect to BDM from Code Warrior. We have Code Warrior version 5.2.1174 and P&E Micro 3.3v BDM interface Rev. F. We are using a parallel cable to connect between the PC parallel port and the P&E. A ribbon cable is used to connect between the P&E and our target board. We've taken over this project from an engineer who had left the company. At least one of us is using the same set-up (hardware & software) that he had (the set-up had been working for him). I checked my settings in Code Warrior (Edit->Preferences->Debugger->Remote Connections) and they appear OK (Connection Type = Parallel, Port = LPT1, Speed = 5). I've tried changing the speed between 1 and 10 without success. The target board is powered up and out of reset when we try to connect. Any suggestions on what might be causing this problem?
