MMA7660FC unable to read XYZ values

Hi,

I am unable to read the X, Y, Z values continuously from the MMA7660 accelorometer.

After first reading for around 15-16 seconds there is no reply. It responses to second read only after 15-16 second. Could some one help me out in solving the problem.
