Dear Sir,

Iam planning to Buy TFT Display which has SSD1963 display driver IC built in to interface to Kinetis k-70 controller. Please guide whether D4D ( Driver for Display) in Code warrior will support this display as Iam not able to find display driver for SSD1963 in D4D.

Thanks

VGS

Hi

I believe that the Solomon SSD1963 is an LCD controller which allows interfacing to processors via a parallel interface (possibly also via SPI).

It is therefore possible to use practically any processor - the Kinetis can be interfaced very efficiently using its FlexBus.

The K70 has an internal LCD controller which doesn't require an external LCD controller like the SSD1963. It is designed to interface directly to the LCD itself and save the external controller requirement.

Regards

Mark

And speaking in *broad* general terms....

Getting a TFT and driving it directly with the K70 will:

 - typically be less expensive

 - typically give you far more options for displays.
