since the latest HCS08AW is now
available with 5volt and 20MHz,
is it possible to introduce a network
TCP/IP module in S08 engine.
(we don't want to migrate to S12NE64)

Hi,

Are you talking about an internal module in the following series or you want to interface an existing Ethernet module ?

Cheers,
Alban.

To get a module like this on S08, I would suggest you use the "Design your own MCU" feature on FSL website.
I suppose your suggestion will be relayed to the appropriate person.

However, I'm not quite sure this kind of MCU is big enough to be very attractive. I mean, already on the NE64 EVB, some external RAM was added.  (you can see some posts on the forum from people interfacing it)
You'll probably need a bit more RAM and 64KB-Flash offered by the S08 today to run a server.

May be a module to send alerts without being a server could be small enough to fit in an S08. But if you've got the Ethernet ability I'm pretty sure you'll want to use it to flash over Ethernet and also configure via the network.
Which means more memory...

Alban.
