Please note that there is a new FTP Client in the uTasker project [https://community.freescale.com/thread/77616
It occupies about 2.5k Flash and requires about 200 bytes SRAM on the Kinetis but offers powerful capabilities as described in the user's manual at http://www.utasker.com/docs/uTasker/uTaskerFTP_client.pdf
