import .brd in Altium, need .DCFX file?

Hey All,

I am trying to import PCB files (for the MIMXRT1064-EVK) into Altium Designer, and the import wizard is asking for a .DCFX file to convert the Allegro Constraints into Altium Rules. Apparently the .brd file cannot be opened without this, but I don't really "need" these rules as I'm not doing anything to the design. Is there any way to bypass and just open a .brd file without rules? The other option is to get the .alg (ASCII) file? I'm really just trying to see the layout in Altium.

Ultimately, I am trying to get/make a 3D (preferably .STP or SolidWorks) file to the mechanical engineers, (or even just 2D with mechanical dimensions) showing mounting holes and LCD placement defined out for them. Anything helps!

Thank you all,

Hi

Search the forum for posts about the 1050EVK because an ASCII version has been posted that can be imported to Altium.

The 1050 and 1060 are very similar and it can thus often be used instead of needing 1060 or 1064 EVK versions.

Hello @export916,

Unfortunately, we only provide these files for OrCAD. I apologize for the inconvenience that this might cause you.

Best Regards,
