Is it possible to connect the ADV7180 video decoder to the CSI port of the RT1064 and get quality and smooth images?

Unfortunately, this is not possible to achieve with RT devices.

Thanks for your help Victor, as the adv7180 output data is very similar to the CMOS video sensor I thought it could be adapted, the main problem is the interlacing of the data?

Thanks for your patience. I apologize for the misunderstanding on my end. It's possible to interface this video decoder with the RT. Regarding the smooth images, the CSI module should be able to process quality and smooth images for your application. 

Appnote AN 12110 Describes how to use the CSI module: https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN12110.pdf . The example described in the appnote describes that a camera was configured to display at 720p and 30 fps, which is quite smooth.  

Also, for this interface please see the SDK demo csi_ccir656 that will show how it is setup and works.
